Arrival
The address is Leo-Vogel-Straße 4, 91781 Weißenburg in Bayern. The apartment is located halfway up the hill in the Ludwigshöhe district. After turning onto Leo-Vogel-Straße, it's the second house on the right. If you're coming by car, it's best to drive straight into the courtyard and park in front of the "Ferienwohnung" (holiday apartment) sign. The entrance is directly to the right of the sign and is identifiable by our logo on the mailbox.
There is a key box with a four-digit combination lock at the front door (see picture). We will send you the code for the key box via WhatsApp or email on the day of your arrival (depending on which contact details you provided when booking). If you experience any problems opening the key box, please contact the mobile number listed in your booking confirmation or ring the bell for the apartment above (upper doorbell).
WLAN
You'll find the Wi-Fi password on the dresser in the entryway after your arrival. We have a Vodafone connection with 500 Gbps, which has been running very reliably for several years now (and we know a thing or two about jitter and ping...). For gamers: The signal can be a bit weaker in the back of the apartment, even with a Wi-Fi repeater.
Wash
We keep dish soap, dishwasher salt, and rinse aid in the kitchen, to the right under the sink. Sponges are there too, and dishcloths are in the lower drawer. The rightmost drawer contains garbage bags.
If you are using the dishwasher (see control panel in the photo on the right): Switch it on at the far left, then press the buttons that are illuminated in the picture and start it with the larger button at the far right. These are now also marked with numbers (1 | 2 | 3), please press them slowly one after the other.

Waste separation
We have four bins in the kitchen. On the left side of the counter, there's usually a bin with a paper bag for organic waste, and on the right, one with a plastic bag for general waste. Under the sink, you can put your plastic waste (the "yellow bag") in one bin, and paper in the other. Please leave glass jars behind the kitchen door. We'll take care of all the waste after your stay and would appreciate your help with sorting.

Media cabinet
Please first switch on the power strip on the shelf (see image below). Then you'll have the large Waipu TV remote (see image on the left; instructions can be found here) for the Smart TV with all its apps and programs (including Netflix and Amazon Prime), and the small Bose remote for the sound and soundbar. For better sound quality, please adjust the volume using the Bose soundbar remote and turn the volume on the Waipu remote all the way down.
After switching on the TV, the Waipu TV start screen should appear; this can take up to 10 seconds. Connecting a laptop is also possible; an HDMI cable is located in the drawer under the Bose soundbar.

Fireplace
The fireplace makes it nice and warm in winter, but please be careful of sparks and hot ash. Firewood is in the pirate chest in the living room (which we also use as a coffee table) and stored on the patio. First, light a small fire starter in the fireplace for a few minutes before adding the larger logs. When lighting the fire, the lever under the firebox should be pulled outwards and the lever above the firebox turned to the left to allow air to flow in. The ash pan shouldn't be too full, otherwise air can't be drawn in. Once everything is burning well and embers are forming, you can push the lower lever inwards (towards the fireplace) and turn the upper lever to the right. This will make the wood burn longer and cleaner. Please use the metal scraper (located in the pirate chest or on the fireplace) to push the remaining ash through the rest of the wood into the ash pan (under the firebox). Then please empty the ash pan into the gray metal bin on the patio.
Unfortunately, we can't avoid safety instructions here: Please do not place any meltable objects (e.g., gloves) on the fireplace, as the stone can become too hot. Always close the firebox tightly. If sparks or embers escape while adding more wood: The glass plate under the stove is safe; nothing can burn there. However, the wooden floor next to it can, and burn holes in it are not easily repaired. Please be very careful and extinguish any sparks or embers immediately.

Important: After drying, please empty the water from the container on the top left of the machine into the drain in front of the machine and clean the lint filter (at the bottom of the dryer door) to remove any dust and fabric residue from the drying process. To do this, please remove the filter, open it, and remove the residue. A trash can is provided.
washroom

You can wash and dry your laundry in the laundry room in the basement. Detergent and fabric softener are usually located on top of the washing machine. Detergent goes in the drawer on the far left (see photo on the left), and fabric softener in the middle. We recommend using the "Easy Care" program (rotary dial on the right side of the machine) with the Speed Perfect function (approx. 1 hour 20 minutes at 60°C) or the Eco Perfect function (approx. 1 hour 50 minutes at 60°C). For the dryer, you can select the "Cotton - Cupboard Dry" option to ensure everything is completely dry. Please place 2-3 ping-pong balls in the machine to prevent static electricity.
